Notes From The Mother Of The Bride

There are so many aspects I can't wait to share!

Today I’m breaking down my beauty, skincare and style regimen leading up to the beautiful event that was Steph + Julien's wedding.

Every planning meeting, every food tasting, every dress fitting, family dinner for the year leading up to the simcha (the Yiddish word for special occasion) was such a joy for me to experience as a mother.

I feel so honored to share my reflections of preparing for the most magical celebration of Steph and Julien’s wedding. I’m so blessed and grateful for this beautiful experience we could share as a family. Steph and Julien really had a vision for what they wanted for this day, and our families really embraced and supported how to bring their dream wedding to life.

Skin Prep:

Skin to me is everything.  It’s the prepped and treated canvas for the beautiful foundation for my makeup. The better my skin looks, the better the makeup looks.

As soon as the date was set exactly a year out, I started the beauty preparation because I know that the amount of time and effort you put in is exact what you get out. And if you know me by now, you know I’m committed!

I knew that if I designed a regimen best suited to my skin, doing my makeup and prep on the day of would be simple and effortless.” - Miriam Gee

Starting in July of last summer, I had a Medi Face Lift treatment every 6 weeks and for the last 6 months prior to the wedding, we added Radio Frequency,
Micro Treament
s, Skin Tightening,
Dermplaning,
Oxygen Therapy, and
Body Radio Frequency

. Two days before the wedding, we concentrated on hydration, glow and radiance. Treatments included these add-ons:

 RF
, LED
Dome with customized serums as well as
Oxygen Therapy.

It's very important that before a big event the skin is hydrated, rejuvenated and most importantly glowing from a customized facial or treatment. I remember the day of the wedding, Miriam's skin was so radiant, smooth and glowing.” - Leda Cerkozi, Medi-Beauty Skin Expert/Manager

Saying Yes To The Dress:

Dress shopping was effortless for me because I have a personal presentation dress script I don’t ever waver from. I am a modest dresser so I choose outlines that have a high neck, are body shaping, and long. The dress code was not black tie – Steph really wanted each of us to feel our best and most beautiful in whatever our own individual style is. I really felt we all complimented her and the vision with our choices.

I love Norma Kamali, her silhouette fits me like a glove. I actually saw this dress on a woman at a wedding I was at last fall, and I knew instantly this was the perfect dress for me. It’s elegant and yet extremely comfortable and breathable. I felt so pretty in it!

I love to feel glamourous, with an Italian influence.” - Miriam Gee

I accessorized my look with my classic Manolo Blahnik crystal-embellished shoes that I have worn and loved several times, and at the last minute added a pair of white cat-eye sunglasses Natalie gave to me because the sun was so bright at the time of the ceremony. They really ended up being so perfect, and I loved the fun and playfulness of them!

I actually changed shoes later in the evening – into my favorite New Balances so that I could really kick my dancing up a notch, and because my dress was so long to the ground you couldn’t even see them!

My daughters and I really embraced and enjoyed every minute of this experience. Steph had such an incredible attitude as a bride. It felt natural, warm, and felt like a true reflection of them both as a couple. We danced outside by the chuppah all night long under the stars and soft lights hanging from the trees.

I had the most fulfilling, luminous glow all night, radiating from the inside out.
