How To Fight Inflammation

How To Fight Inflammation

RESEARCH OVER THE PAST FEW YEARS HAS INCREASINGLY SHOWN THE LINK BETWEEN INFLAMMATION & MANY AILMENTS & DISORDERS.

IT HAS BECOME A POPULAR TOPIC & FOR GOOD REASON - WE ALL EXPERIENCE SOME FORM OF INFLAMMATION, WHICH CAN RANGE FROM FROM AUTO-IMMUNE ILLNESSES, ARTHRITIS, DEPRESSION, RASHES, ALLERGIES, & SO MUCH MORE.

But let's start from the beginning. What is inflammation?

Inflammation is the immune system's response to being compromised, or not in the most optimal state. Inflammation is the body's way of signaling the immune system to heal and repair damaged tissue. Inflammation can also occur as a result of our lifestyle, diets, and indulgences. Our body is incredible at fighting back and inflammation is its way of showing us just that. However, when inflammation lingers it can become a chronic problem.

On top of internal reactions, inflammation can manifest itself in the form of redness, itchiness, and breakouts on our skin. Tiny shifts in our lifestyle can make a big difference in how you feel daily.

Here are our at-home tips for keeping inflammation under control

Tip #1

Cool your jade roller and gua sha in the refrigerator prior to using it. The coolness of the stone will help calm the skin and reduce redness.

Tip #2

Keeping the body hydrated is ideal for overall health but it is also one of the easiest ways to decrease inflammation. Start your morning by adding the juice of half a lemon to a glass of water. Lemon water will help to decrease acidity in the body and flush out toxins.

Tip #3

An anti-inflammatory diet is key. Seek out foods that fight inflammation like berries, walnuts, fatty fish, and green leafy vegetables. The nutrients will help ease inflammation from the inside out.
