How To Eat For Beauty

How To Eat For Beauty

Daily additions to your diet to support you looking and feeling your best.

We've always believed that beauty is a balance of the inside out and the outside in. When we nourish our bodies with whole, nutrient-rich foods, we support everything from glowing skin and strong hair to improved energy levels and mental clarity. What we eat directly affects our hormones, digestion, and even our mood, all of which show up in how we carry ourselves. I always say that the foundation of beauty is wellness—and that means making choices that fuel our bodies in the best way possible. It’s not about restriction, it’s about nurturing your body with what it needs to thrive and glow.

Here are 6 foods to easily incorporate into your daily diet to support your beauty:

Avocados

They're packed with healthy fats—especially monounsaturated fats—which help keep skin soft, hydrated, and supple from the inside out. They’re also rich in antioxidants like vitamin E, which helps protect skin cells from damage caused by free radicals (think: pollution, sun exposure, stress). Plus, avocados contain vitamin C, a key player in collagen production that keeps skin firm and youthful. Their anti-inflammatory properties can help calm redness or irritation, making them a powerful tool for both glow and gut health. I love adding thin slices of avocado, drizzled with olive oil, lemon juice and sprinkled with Maldon salt, as a side to my soft boiled eggs for breakfast.

Carrots

Carrots are a powerful beauty-boosting food because of their high levels of beta-carotene, which the body converts into vitamin A—a key nutrient for healthy skin. Vitamin A helps support skin cell turnover, which keeps the complexion smooth, clear, and radiant. It also plays a role in reducing inflammation and preventing breakouts. For a refreshing carrot salad, use a peeler to thinly peel your large carrot into strips, add lemon juice, olive oil, sesame oil, soy sauce, sesame seeds, a sprinkle of salt and enjoy!

Berries

Berries are a true beauty food because they’re loaded with antioxidants—especially vitamin C—which help protect the skin from premature aging caused by free radicals. Vitamin C is also essential for collagen production, which keeps skin firm, smooth, and youthful. Plus, berries are naturally low in sugar compared to many other fruits, which helps maintain stable blood sugar levels—important for keeping skin clear and balanced. I love having a side of berries with my breakfast or afternoon snack. I'm currently obsessed with blackberries and when you keep them in a glass Tupperware in the fridge, they last beautifully for a full week!

Cucumber

Cucumbers are a top-tier beauty food because they’re incredibly hydrating—made up of about 95% water—which helps plump the skin and keep it looking fresh and dewy. They’re also rich in silica, a trace mineral that supports healthy skin, hair, and nails by strengthening connective tissues. Cucumbers contain antioxidants like vitamin C, which helps soothe inflammation and reduce puffiness. Their cooling, detoxifying properties also support the lymphatic system, helping to flush out toxins and keep your skin looking clear and vibrant. For added protein, I mix cottage cheese with hot honey and mustard, and use mini cucumbers as my 'spoon' to enjoy it.

Dark Chocolate

I can't write a blog about beauty foods without including my favorite one! It’s rich in antioxidants called flavonoids, which help protect the skin from environmental damage, improve circulation, and support skin hydration and thickness. These antioxidants can even help reduce the appearance of fine lines and promote a smoother, more radiant complexion. Dark chocolate also contains minerals like zinc, iron, and magnesium, which support healthy cell repair and hormone balance—both key for clear, glowing skin. And let’s not forget: a little dark chocolate can boost mood and lower stress levels, which also shows up in your skin. Clean sweet treat idea: flatten out several Madjool dates to plate, add melted nut butter, then a layer of melt dark chocolate. Sprinkle with Maldon salt and freeze!

BONUS: I'm also a huge advocate for drinking a lot of water (3L a day please!), and incorporating supplementation based on your body's needs and movement.

Eating for beauty is an empowering perspective to make mindful choices that fuel us, support our glow, and help us feel our absolute best. It’s one more way we can take care of ourselves in a real, lasting way.
