Time away is a gift—but coming home is where the real grounding begins.
I’m such a routine person. My routines ground me, support me, and fuel me to show up as my best self. After a trip, I always return to a few simple rituals that help me ease back into my rhythm—mentally, physically, and emotionally.
These are the post-vacation essentials I swear by when it’s time to reset.
Kitchen Reset
Getting back into routine always starts in the kitchen. Depending on my flight or travel timing, I’ll either order groceries online (through Summerhill or Instacart) or go first thing the following morning.
I focus on simple, nourishing staples:
Protein: currently obsessed with miso-marinated salmon (recipe below!)
Veggies: broccoli and green beans with olive oil and pink salt
Easy snacks: cottage cheese, dark chocolate, Ollipops, and LMNT Zero Sugar Electrolytes
I spend one to two hours the day I get back doing a quick prep of protein, carbs, and vegetables. It makes the rest of the week feel supported and effortless.
Schedule Reset
Once I’m home, I ease back into my inbox and calendars—both personal and professional. I try not to overload myself or overcommit to plans in the first few days after a trip. My body needs a day or two to settle back into routine.
I write out all my to-dos and prioritize what’s urgent versus what can wait. I catch up with my team and make sure they feel supported. (I do like to check my inbox while I’m away—I love being in the know—but always at a healthy distance.)
Skin Reset
Travel tends to leave my skin congested. I’m oily, and my pores clog easily on vacation, so a post-travel facial is non-negotiable. I’m currently booked for a Medi Multi Hydra, and I may even add a swipe of microdermabrasion—I need a deep clean after being away.
I also love a Brazilian lymphatic massage post-travel to de-puff and detox. It helps everything feel lighter and more balanced.
Sleep Reset
Early nights are essential when I’m getting back into routine. I love my nighttime supplements—Arrae Magnesium, Constipation, and Agent Nateur Calm Beauty—paired with mint tea and honey.
It’s a simple ritual, but my body knows immediately that it’s time to wind down.
The Final Resets
Laundry, unpacking, eating meals at home—these small acts matter more than we think. I also love a Brazilian lymphatic massage post-travel to de-puff and detox. It helps everything feel lighter and more balanced.
Routine isn’t about restriction—it’s about support. These resets help me come home to myself, every time.
